the-sheraton-grand-los-cabosYou may have noticed my regularly schedule street style, was hi-jacked by some beautiful scenery over Labor Day Weekend…

That’s because this lil’ lady packed her bags, grabbed her passport, and went in search of some ‘me’ time  at the Sheraton Grand in Los Cabos, Mexico – olè!

The Sheraton is one of my favorite resorts in all of Los Cabos because it stays true to the traditional decor, and ambiance of Mexico. Stunning cacti, lush greenery, and a gentle lullaby sing by the Sea of Cortez while you enjoying everything from fine dining to yoga on the beach.

Some of you may have visited the Cabo of yester-year – aka. Spring Break at Cabo Wabo, or a Bachelorette Party you barely remember at some all-inclusive, but the Sheraton offers a much more sophisticated and enjoyable experience. From daily activities to a vast array of dining options – there is never a dull moment unless you want there to be!

Today, I am sharing my recap of the trip including the top things to do ( and skip) on your trip!

DON’T MISS…The Cactus Spa

The Cactus Spa is very unsuspecting when you first look at it – but beyond the double doors lies a lush oasis designed with relaxation in mind. Plunge pools, hot tub, steam room, sauna…the whole works. To be honest, if it wasn’t for the decedent dinner I had on my agenda – after my AH-mazing hot-stone massage, I may have never left! I loved how greenery scaled the walls of the waiting area, and the faint sound of the waterfalls could be heard from every corner.

DON’T BOTHER…The Sushi and Sports Bar

So for those of you who know me, you know that I LOVE sushi! So when I heard there was a place that served fresh sushi, I knew I had to check it out. Consider this the equivalent of visiting Italy, and asking for a hamburger. I’m sure you can get one, but it will not be the beefy deliciousness you were hoping for. Similar experience here…if you are in Mexico – Japanese cuisine is probably not the number one draft pick. Just sayin’.

IF YOU ONLY HAVE TIME FOR ONE MEAL…Brunch at Tomatoes Restaurant

Made to order waffles, bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, and bread baskets – these are just a few of my favorite things about the brunch at Tomatoes Restaurant. Among others? The terrace overlooks the property (and the Sea of Cortez) – the service there is on fleek, and to be honest – this is where I spent most of my time! #sorrynotsorry

INSTAGRAM GOLD…Sunrise, or Sunset – doesn’t matter!

If you told me I was going to go on vacation and wake up at 6 to watch the sunrise…I would probably laugh at you. Afterall…if any of you know me at all…you will know that I am NOT, and I repeat NOT a morning person!!! Well consider me newly converted!

I left my balcony door open each night to hear the ocean and the first morning I woke up to the sun peeking out from the distance. Begrudgingly I got up…one word peeps – breathtaking! I ended up waking up early every morning, and one day I even got to enjoy some beachside yoga courtesy of the Sheraton activities calendar!

INSIDER INTEL…The 3-Course Meal at De Cortez

De Cortez is the Sheraton’s fine dining restaurant and is nestled in the corner of the property and on the ocean. The offer an incredible wine selection and a really yummy (and affordable!) 3-course meal including an appetizer, main course and desert! The cheesecake roll was my absolute fave, second the the incredibly romantic ambiance!

CLAIM TO FAME…The Infinity Pool + Poolside Service by Las Sirenas Bar

The infinity pool was perfectly heated – not too hot, not too cold – but, just right…the entire time! I throughly enjoyed chilling poolside and sipping on a variety of cocktails from mezcal-medleys to a traditional margarita – oh and BTW, their ceviche is the best ceviche on the property – hands down!

WORD TO THE WISE…Pack lite!!!

Trust  when it comes to packing for Cabo, everything you need starts with an S.

A sarong, sandals, sunhat, sunnies, swimsuit and a sundress – how cool is that?!  Don’t get me wrong, as a blogger, naturally no matter how streamlined a packing job I thought I did, I still managed to over pack. I am not kidding when I say that the above mentioned are pretttty much all you need – if you are going to the fine dining restaurant, a free flowing maxi-dress and embellished sandals will keep you looking fresh without over doing it.

All in all, I have to say this was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. Not too much down time, and not too much to do that I couldn’t relax. For those of you looking to venture outside of the Sheraton – be sure to check out my City Guide to Los Cabos, this city is truly magical and a true home away from home, so much in fact that I feel completely safe traveling there by myself!

Next time you are looking for a little RnR south of the border – the Sheraton Grand in Los Cabos lives up to it’s name!
