Aline_Skirt_FeaturedOne of my favorite styles to hit the runway for Spring is the A-Line skirt that hits just below the knee and sits high on the waist. I distinctly remember how distracted I was at the Carolina Hererra Spring 2015 show because of the skirts her team was wearing from the her ready-to-wear collection. They were fun, flirty and looked anything but stuffy! I totally wanted one!

Prior to this I wouldn’t be caught dead in longer lengths because either I felt like an extra on the Little House on the Prairie or worse, I was going to look like I had cankles. But these skirts, come to find out, are pretty much universally flattering because of the fit. With a high waist line and a full and flowy A shape this skirt accentuates curves in all of the right ways.  I was plesantly surprised when I recently came across an amazing vintage beaded version of the A-Line skirt at My Sister’s Closet, at $25 it was a steal so I had to buy it. I figured if this style isn’t me its not a big deal because it cost less than one week of Starbucks!

This skirt never ceases to amaze, I can tuck in button downs, t-shirts and tanks easily depending upon my mood and the length is perfect for everything from office settings to running errands on a Saturday. I also love that it is high waisted because I can even throw a crop top on for an edgier feel. Needless to say, I would definitely suggest adding an A line skirt to your spring shopping list, or you can shop my favorites!
