In my book, one can never have too many black basics. That being said, I am constantly looking for new ways to wear black and still keep things fresh and relevant (and also avoid looking like I only own two pieces of clothing). When I found this flouncy skirt and long-sleeved crop top at Stroll boutique in San Diego I instantly loved the combo because it gives a nod to the crop-top trend without going overboard. Regardless of how many sit-ups I do, I still feel a little timid walking around with my abs out on full display so I tend to show a peek of skin here and there as opposed to my full-blown midriff.
One of my favorite ways to dress up an all-black ensemble is to add touches of gold, there is also something about black and gold that just feels bad-ass to me. Not only does a touch of gold instantly dresses up an all black look, but it gives it an air of edge and sophistication as well. MINT by Noel makes some of my fave gold pieces that I am currently wearing including this arrowhead and stack of onyx bracelets.
Leopard print pumps are a great way to finish an all-black look and add a pop of interest without making things too busy — after all, leopard is a neutral right?!
