How to Style Deep V Overalls (Without Looking Like a Farmer)
I have such a love/hate relationship with overalls…primarily hate, if I am being completely honest. No matter how many times I have tried to buy them and style them, they just never look for feel right.
For whatever reason, I always end up looking like a farmer, or feeling like a pre-pubescent girl, and trust me when I say that neither of those is the look I am going for. It’s so frustrating too because I always see cute photos of girls on Instagram or Pinterest, wearing skinny leg overalls, or baggy overalls and a Calvin Klein bra, and end up feeling like there is something wrong with me!
That is why I was determined to find the perfect overall to suit my style and body this season. My hunt brought me to Soel Boutique, the cutest shop in the Riverwoods Mall in Provo. They have such a great curation of jewelry, shoes, chunky knit sweaters, bohemian inspired wall-decor and obsession-worthy baby mobiles.
I was immediately drawn to these bright indigo blue overalls that have a deep V and a wider leg. They fit like a glove and I couldn’t wait to style them. When I started trying on outfits, it took a minute to find something that felt like ‘me’. With the deep V, I initially put on a statement T and fisherman’s cap, but ended bearing a striking resemblance with a train conductor, so that was a no-go. Then I tried on several cropped tops, but the proportions just felt off.

After rummaging around in my closet, I slipped on one of my classic black and white stripped long-sleeved T shirts, and it immediately felt right. The tight fit of the shirt doesn’t add bulk, and who doesn’t love a classic denim and stripe combo? I added my favorite camel coat and boater hat because it’s still very much winter in Utah, and finished the look with my fave new MVMT chain watch and sunnies, and a really killer beaded clutch from Rebecca Minkoff that I scored at Nordstrom Rack.
All in all, super stoked that I FINALLY found a pair of overalls, that feel like me and can’t wait to find more ways to style them! I’ve linked my look below and would love to know, what are some of your fave ways to style overalls?!
