The older I get the more I love to stick to the classics when it comes to street style, adidas classics to be exact.

I love the feel of their old school superstar sneakers…have since I was in 7th grade and rocked them in baby blue. The colors might evolve as I get older, but the feeling I get when I slip them on is exactly the same. Comfy, cool and collected.

You know what they say, if it ain’t broke…don’t break it. While some consider this playing it ‘safe’, I would argue that it is simply knowing your style. Not saying that I don’t enjoy indulging in the latest trend as much as the next person, but I like taking calculated risks and tread into trend-based territory on my own terms as opposed to anyone else’s.

These days I prefer effortless over elaborate and have adopted a much more minimalistic approach to my everyday style. What I find most interesting about this, is that the less I try to evoke a ‘stylish’ vibe, the more put together and stylish I feel. Go fig.

One of the biggest things I strive for these days in my everyday street style isn’t the head-turning avantgarde attire. Rather the contrary, its the comfy classics that can mix and match, go high or low that I wear on repeat time and again.

To me, comfort is the key ingredient to a stylish woman and lends that added je na sais quoi to my step that the latest trend can’t buy.

xx,
Jess
