Unwrapping the December Must Have Box was a lot of fun.

Even though I have lived in San Diego for more than 2 years, I have recently really been focusing on the decor in my apartment. I recently refurnished my home office with loads of great furniture from Office Monster. What used to be a room with an old desk and stool is now a fully-functioning, modern work station. I also bought a new rug from Urban Outfitters which I L.O.V.E. although I did have a slight incident with it the other day. I stupidly spilled a cup of coffee all over the new rug, but I found a great Rug Cleaning Brunswick company and they made it look good as new. I had only owned the rug for a few weeks before I ruined it! Oh well, it’s fixed now. I have also been working with a really cool local carpenter on a coffee table for my living room – so in the meantime, I have really been working on refining all of the knick-knacks that are hanging around in each room. I’ve also been looking for little extra pieces to buy for each room too. They will just extra things to make each room have a more homey feel, like one of these sheep skin rugs or other cozy items.

When there is space, regardless of if its a conversation, or a living room – I don’t know about you, but I get this strong urge to fill it. I tend to chatter when there is a lull in the conversation and I don’t really think that makes the situation any better – I mean, I am pretty sure the other person in the conversation is secretly thinking “oh god, here she goes about widgets again.”

The same mentality applies to home decor – less is more, so I have been working on really refining and defining my signature style – from the tried and true minimalistic essentials that hang in my closet, to the coffee table books, and ashtrays that I have been collecting. I’ve also been looking at the website Bumblejax.com for wall art pieces printed on acrylic, they look vibrant and that’s what I am all for!

A fun way to refine and define your style without wasting a lot of money is to try a monthly subscription box like the Popsugar Must Have Box, it always has a really well-curated variety of up and coming brands to try from fashion brands to home goods. Every month its something new, and I don’t know how Popsugar does it, but they always seem to have at least 1-2 items in there on my wish list. This month I particularly loved the jewelry trays that were inside, but last month they had the cutest Kendra Scott bracelet inside that I was obsessed over – such a great value for under $40!
