Good music and camping are two of my favorite things – so camping while enjoying good music? Heaven!

The Bonanza Campout in Heber, Utah is right around the corner. The concert is featuring some of my all-time favorite artists from NAS to the Kongos, so you can imagine how excited I am! I scored my tickets early, but if you still haven’t snagged some, here is the link because the are going fast!

Needless to say, what to wear has been on the forefront of my mind. Festivals can be tricky because they are typically all-day affairs so you want to be prepared without over packing. The campout is just that, a campout so hauling a truckload of shoes and accessories is a total rookie move. After all, you need to bring your camping gear (like that from https://tetonsports.com/product-category/camp-pads/) to have a good time too. The best kept secret to a successful campout, is minimalism. Mixing function with fashion is the name of the game.

FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS

Survival Tip

no. 1

BRING PLENTY OF SUNSCREEN

The gates open at like 12pm and you are going to be in the hot sun, all day long! Don’t make the mistake of forgetting sunscreen (for your lips too), and reapplying religiously. The festival is 3 days long, you don’t want to get scorched on day one and look like a lobster (and feel like s*it) for the rest of the trip.

Survival Tip

no. 2

LEAVE EXPENSIVE SHADES AT HOME

Things will get lost…you’re camping. Nothing sucks more than losing your favorite pair of sunnies while getting lost in the moment. Instead, opt for a chic and affordable pair that you can easily replace and won’t get heart-broken over if you loose them. I love EdgeiWear because they have sooooo many cute styles and they are all under $20! My fave are the Frida’s I am wearing in this post – get them here!

Survival Tip

no. 3

BRING FUN + FUNCTIONAL ACCESSORIES

Just because you have to leave your favorite baubles at home, doesn’t mean that you can’t still look cute! Like they say, dress for the sport! Swap out your favorite expensive arm candy for a stack of vibrant friendship bracelets! This is also a great chance to rock a wide-brimmed hat if you don’t normally wear one on the reg.

Survival Tip

no. 4

WEAR SNEAKERS, NO EXCEPTIONS

No, not even if you won the gold medal in wedge maneuvering in unfavorable terrain. No, not even if you are Snookie-sized and can’t see…you definitely won’t be able to see anything from the medic’s tent after breaking an ankle. Just, no. Trust me, you will thank me later. You will be walking, a lot. Instead, opt for your fave pair of sneakers, they can even have bows and glitter, because who doesn’t love glitter?
