Chambray_Shirt_1Denim on denim a.k.a. the Canadian Tuxedo has to be one of my all time favorite uniforms! With so many different fabric weights and washes the options are pretty endless. Be sure to check out my previous post on doubling up your denim  for some helpful styling suggestions when you are just starting out. Since I have loved denim for so long, I have acquired quite the collection and since pieces like this usually age like fine wine  I rarely give them up.

One shirt I have been obsessed with in particular lately is my chambray button up from Urban Outfitters. Because of its faded wash, it has a pretty diverse range of blues to help match to other denim pieces. It also goes incredibly well with leather shorts or leggings, pencil skirts, layerd under fitted sweaters or even over a swimsuit at the beach. I picked a lighter weight denim because I wanted it to be pretty flexible so I can roll the sleeves up easily or tie the waist if the occasion calls for it.

From the first days of Spring to the final days of Winter a Chambray shirt is clutch for those days you can’t figure out what to wear. It can evoke everything from modern day chic to boarder line badass.  Just start with this classic and you will be shocked at how you can literally build a look around it in minutes.
