Black and white has always been a favorite color combo of mine this season and was a clear theme when I packed my suit case this season for NYFW, and I wasn’t alone! Black and white looks were given honorable mentions on Refinery 29 and WhoWhatWear.com to name a few.

Some of the many reasons I love black and white so much is that any color of accessory will stand out, these colors are like a blank canvas and can be worn countless ways. They have also withstood the tests of time over and over again. Here are my top three pieces worth investing in this season, in black and white:

1. A White Button Down Blouse: This is a classic item every woman should own. Tucked into a pencil skirt, worn casually with jeans, tied at the waist really the options are endless.

2. A Black Leather Skirt: I love leather, especially black leather. It is a refined sexy that is hard to come by. Find a shape that suits your body. I have a range from pencil skirt to skater style skirts, all in black and continue to find ways to wear them season after season.

3. A Sporty Jacket: I love this knit jacket by Rotten Tomatoes. Its sporty but chic and light weight enough for the end of summer. I suggest finding one that fits a bit more snug to help create shape over looser layers.

I hope you have all had an amazing week, as excited as I am to get home to see Brooklyn I know it will be a rough week since I have to finish packing and am making the big move to San Diego next Wednesday. Wish me luck, and as always…
