The Other LBD You Need in Your Closet

We’ve all heard of the classic little black dress – but the LBD I’m talking about is the long black dress.

A black maxi dress often goes un-mentioned on the ‘must’ own list, but I would argue that a long black dress is way more versatile and alluring than its little sister. Where a little black dress is overtly fun and flirty, the long black maxi dress is poised and elegant. It knows its power but isn’t in a hurry to show it. If you don’t already have one, then you need to get yourself a black maxi dress! Honestly, your wardrobe is seriously lacking if you don’t have one. I have literally worn the same maxi dress vacationing in Cabo one week and to a wedding the next. The rules with a long black maxi dress are very similar to that of the LBD, nearly anything goes. Dress it up with a bold lip and heels, or down with sandals and a messy up do. Its really that easy and looks surprisingly sophisticated both ways.

Plus, I love how flow-y (most) maxi dresses are, I don’t know about you but during the summer when it hits 90 degrees the last thing I want to be worried about is sweat marks, swampy feels of any kind or anything inbetween…just saying. You’ll notice I said most, that is because some designers and brands think it to be a good idea to create tight-bondage style maxi dresses….no….just no…unless you want to waddle your way down the street in the heat…then be my guest.
