Chic Travels // Airplane Attire
When peering into my closet to pack for my first time in Paris there were several challenges I was facing. I have never been to Paris and though I love drinking in PFW online, it is a completely different story to step foot there. Another more obvi challenge was the 50 lbs. weight limit for my suitcase.
Being that it is summer there, the weather is quite pleasant so I didn’t have to worry about the bulk of thick layers but did have to manage to pack a bridesmaid dress and other wedding essentials. I have found that opting for light items that layer well is a great way to minimize space and also maximize interchangeable outfit options.
I also made sure to limit my shoes to the cutest but most functional options. Nothing screams tourist more than 5″ heels teetering down cobblestone streets. Another way to optimize suitcase space is to interchange your full size beauty product options with travel sizes. I got every possible product I would need at Walgreens for under $20 and they have a really great selection from Bed Head to Fekkai.
For the 9 hour flight and 2 hour train ride I knew comfort was key, but also wanted to dress to impress from the moment I landed so I opted to wear a black viscose dress by LUSH (this fabric doesn’t really wrinkle and the black helps to minimize wrinkles should they occur), comfortable but chic leopard ballet flats and a perforated faux leather jacket from Forever 21. The jacket is light weight enough to fit in my carry on and adds just the right amount of edge to any outfit.
These photos were taken right as we arrived, and my sister even commented on how there is no way I could have been traveling for over 11 hours. Très bien!
