Holiday Chic // When Sparks Fly
When holidays roll around, my first inclination is to dress up. After all, it’s a special occasion, right? But in the end, these occasions are all about family, friends…and in tomorrow’s case, fireworks! I will undoubtedly be running around barefoot on the beach, and so the last thing I want to be worried about is getting my clothes dirty.
Luckily, classic American style is all about laid-back, effortless pieces that look better with age and a little bit of grit. Chambray button-up shirts are one of my all time faves because they go with everything, and are super comfortable to wear. I opt for softer fabrics in a size up so it fits loosely and can layer well.
Ripped Levi’s are another one of my favorite staples from America’s closet, I own them in several colors but generally gravitate towards crisp whites in the summer. Growing up, I would always envy my dad’s perfectly ripped 501’s and have tried very hard to wear mine in as well as he does! Luckily, these Levi’s were destroyed when I bought them so I didn’t have to do much work. đ
Converse are one of the most iconic American pieces of all time. In fact, they are so iconic that you can pretty much get away with wearing them year round, for any and everything. I have had this white pair of chucks for a couple of years, and cannot bare to part with them, they have seen me through trips to Europe and Mexico without a single problem!
This is my first Fourth of July in San Diego, and it will undoubtedly be spent with sparklers in hand on the beach! I can’t wait to break in my new Round Here mandala blanket that I got from Function S Boutique, it was hand made in the United States and the print is so dope! If you live in SD, make sure to check them out, this little gem is located in San Diego’s East Village and all of the products they sell are made in the USA!
Now for some exciting news! Use the coupon code “CHIC25” online at Function S and get 25% off of a Round Here blanket of your own, plus FREE shipping!!! #NoBrainer
