How to Rock Plaid (Without Looking Like a Lumberjack)
Plaid is one of those prints that is super fun and festive…but can take a turn for lumberjack real quick. To avoid the axe, I love to style plaid with edgier pieces like leather leggings and layered gold necklaces.
There are so many stylish ways to wear plaid from scarves and pencil skirts, to blazers and button ups, its really all about finding the right piece that you can seamlessly fit into your wardrobe. This plaid button up was a lucky thrift score for a ‘Flannel Formal’ dinner party that my friend Ashley hosted the other night and the second I saw it, I knew it would look great with leather leggings and my new puffy parka from H&M.
Though I typically steer away from pairing too many ‘rustic’ themed pieces together, I loved how these black leather pumps with a lug heel gave a nod to the outdoorsy vibe without going full Timberland status.
