The MOD uniform has always been one of my fave sources of outfit inspo.

For those of you not familiar with this term, allow for me to rock your off-duty essentials world…MOD, short for Model Off Duty, is this fabulous array of ‘why didn’t I think of that’ basics that are timeless, comfortable, and incredibly affordable.

The coolest thing about these off-duty essentials, is that you don’t need to be a model to rock them! Regardless of if you strike a pose for a living, or work a 9-5, they make the perfect addition to any #girlbosses wardrobe.

So without further ado, here are my top three fave MOD essentials you need in your life…like right now, right now:

Converse

High-top, low-top, houndstooth, polkadots…there is literally a Chuck-T to suit every girls signature style. Chuck’s also have an innate ability to go with anything from destroyed denim to cocktail attire without anyone questioning your style IQ.

The Moto-Jacket

Real or faux, leather jackets are an off-duty vetran. We understand that there will always be a debate when it comes to real or fake fur, but it is your personal preference. Clothing Manufacturers and your favourite clothing stores are the ones providing these options to their customers. As long as they are making money, that’s what matters. But it is also important for you, the customer to be happy with what you purchase. With a staple piece like a leather jacket, you can’t go wrong. Once again, they dress up, and dress down like a champ and keep you warm without subtracting any style points, as long as you take good care of them. If you’ve got an extensively worn leather jacket, it may be worth investing in some leather conditioner or cleaner to make sure you can always stay stylish. Try to look for a jacket that fits perfectly but still allows for you to layer appropriately underneath.
