I am a minimalist by nature, so when the ruffle trend hit this season while I was secretly shuddering on the inside, there was something alluring about these overly ornate embellishments that called to me like a siren song. You can imagine my delight when I slipped on my first multi-tiered garment and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to step out of my comfort zone and into pieces that looked like they belonged on the top of a wedding cake.

While they look extremely high-maintenance, ruffles are actually rather low key. You simply need to slip them on and BOOM!!! You’re done. Since there is so much going on with a ruffle embellishment, it is pretty much the only piece you need to make a statement when you are putting a look together.

I got this dusty rose ruffle top from Shein.com for $21.00 and immediately started wearing it, it is such a fun alternative to the black and white pieces already in my closet! I don’t really wear to much ‘girly’ stuff so another surprising thing was how me I felt in it. While I paired it with my fave ripped black skinny jeans for this look, it will look just as great in an office setting tucked into a pencil skirt or casually thrown over denim cutoffs as well.

Today, I am also sharing some of my fave ruffled pieces that are perfect for freshening up your wardrobe this spring at all price points, so make sure to check out the full look book below annnnd, if you have ruffle fever like I do, make sure to check out last weeks post where I shared how to style ruffles three ways!

Last but not least, you can also shop my look below including this shirt along with my fave tried and true espadrilles and skinny jeans that I have been rocking all year long on repeat.

xx,

Jess
