For this year’s Kentucky Derby I got the opportunity to take over Second Story Liquor Bar’s Instagram for their Whiskey & Bubbles party! I have loved this restaurant since the day it opened, not only do they have world class food, but customer service as well! Make sure if you are ever in Old Town Scottsdale you check this place out, you won’t be sorry!

For the event I wanted to rock bright colors, and a fun hat of course! Given Second Story was going to serve a traditional Hot Brown dish, deviled eggs, and refreshing Mint Juleps I wanted to make sure my outfit was Era appropriate!  One of my all time fave places to shop vintage is Buffalo Exchange so I set off to their location near ASU to find inspiration!

The moment I walked in my eyes were drawn to this raffia and dark green Cloche hat, and for only $8? I had to have it! As I shopped around I remembered seeing several A-Line dresses in floral prints from the last time I was in and began to sift through their dress selection. This dress is from Buffalo’s new product (did you know they sell resued, and new clothing?!) from Tres Bien and had just the right colors of green to match the hat so it was a done deal, and all for under $30!

Accessories can dress up any outfit so I opted for the new Kendra Scott necklace I received at the ASU Business of Fashion show and layered it up with a gold necklace I have had for ages from Banana Republic. I paired it with my favorite Kendra Scott Fringe Bracelet, some Jimmy Choo Suede Platforms and my fave Prada Sunnies. All in all the event was a huge success, make sure you check out my instagram photo’s from the event here!

Stay Stylish,

XOJ
