FWSD-Full-Look1

So the other night, I began getting ready for my second night of Fashion Week San Diego but when I put on the outfit I had in mind to wear, I absolutely hated it. The sweater dress was too short and the white button down I was layering under it stuck out like a duck tail. With 30 minutes to go before I had to be out the door and on my way I dove into my closet and scrambled to find a back up plan. I knew I wanted to wear my new leopard print Steve Madden pumps I bought at Nordstrom and decided to let that be the foundation for the outfit.

I have really been into sheers recently and decided to go that route starting with this really awesome skirt I found at Urban Outfitters. It is literally 100% sheer with layers of paneling. Given that fact the only real way to keep it sassy and not scandalous is a body suit which ended up working out perfectly because I have a black swimsuit that I got at American Apparel which has a really awesome deep V with sheer detailing but is super high cut so I have never really worn it.  A little risqué but I decided to channel my inner confidence and just go for it!

For accessories I opted for my fave statement necklace that I found at Windsor, and my Jimmy Choo croc embossed bag which is the perfect size for holding my camera and all of my other Fashion Week essentials. All in all the outfit got some side glances (especially when I had to take Brooklyn for a walk before I left), but I was proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone.  What’s the riskiest thing you’ve worn?!

Stay Stylish,
XOJ
