Holiday Outfits Already In Your Closet
Happy Thanksgiving! I want to thank each and every person who reads and supports my blog, my style, my writing and my mission to share signature style. Hopefully you are all getting to spend the day with family and friends and you have a fun and festive outfit picked out so there are no ‘what do I wear on Thanksgiving?!’ moments! I couldn’t be more excited to have my bestie in town for the holiday, so I am crashing her families house for Thanksgiving. It is crazy that it has only been two months since I moved to San Diego, I honestly feel like I have been here for years already with all of the events, and meetings I have had. Luckily I have clocked some decent beach time with Brooklyn too.
I have been doing a lot of self reflecting over the last couple of months and I began to realize that I still have a childhood tendency of mine to ask ‘whats next?’ When I landed my first collab with AZ Foothills Magazine, I was already asking myself why I didn’t have more collaborations going? Sure, it is very important to have goals and ambitions it is also important to slow down once in awhile and appreciate accomplishments along the road, get the job done well and still enjoy life and its little pleasures.
One of my biggest goals during the holidays, is to stop looking at my phone so damn much! Instagram will still be there, but how often will the person you are having coffee with? Social media is great but it can be a real time suck too. I am also going to make it an effort to focus on quality not quantity in many areas of life. Shopping, of course…but this also applies to business, events and holiday snacking! Speaking of…
Just in case you don’t have a Holiday Outfit for Thanksgiving, here are a few helpful tips to get you by with clothes already in your closet!
Go All In: Pull out the stops and throw on some sequins! Why not, its the holidays right?! I love mixing camo and sequins together, but it was a first putting red and green together. I think the fact that it was hunter green helped.
Experiment: One of the great thing about a holiday with family or friends, is that you can try new outfit combos and if you look ridiculous they will just roll their eyes and love you anyways!
Keep it Casual: Depending upon your mood you may feel like drawing a little less attention to yourself. In cases like this I would say a nice pair of skinny jeans and a neutral colored top like white, grey or black is a classic bet. Minimal jewelry, effortless and comfortable.
