Ladies, lets be honest…how many times have we forgone the gym because of our hair? Nothing can squash motivation Monday like a good blow-out from your salon bestie…not good for those beach body resolutions, not good at all!

To combat this, Carmen, my haircare BFF, and I teamed up to create some fun hairstyles that can take you from the gym, to girls night out, in no time at all! Move over messy pony, theres a new ‘do (or three) in town! See below for step-by-step instructions, plus my road test of each ‘do!

LOOK >> ONE

The Triple Threat

1) Gather hair into 3 ponytails with elastics, one at the crown, one just below, and the lowest at the nape of the neck
2) Twist the highest ponytail a few times, and then wrap around the base of the ponytail. Secure with a bobby pin (or a few pins for longer/thicker hair)
3) Repeat for the other two ponytails
Carmen’s Style Tip: Wear this to a hot yoga class or any other super sweaty workout (like boxing)!

C&D Road Test >> I like this one, its actually easier than it looks and I felt like a badass Stegosaurus so it made me workout harder!

LOOK >> TWO

Post-Workout Half Updo

/// GET the LOOK ///

1) Section off a 2-3” square section on the right side of your part and do a three strand braid long enough to wrap around the back of your head, secure end with an elastic.
2) Repeat on left side.
3) Bobby pin braids in place around the back of your head, one above the other
Carmen’s Style Tip: After wearing this style, you’ll have great wavy texture to show off!

C&D Road Test >> This is such a fun boho style, and perfect for girls who have thick hair with A LOT of texture – Just make sure you bring the proper hair ties etc. to pull it off after class!

LOOK >> THREE

The Not So Basic Ponytail

/// GET the LOOK ///

1) Section off a mohawk section at the top of the head 2-3” wide
2) French braid the mohawk section to the crown of the head (or lower for a lower ponytail), secure with an elastic
3) Gather remaining hair into a ponytail, secure with an elastic, and finish it with a braid of your choice (classic 3 strand, fishtail, rope, etc)
Carmen’s Style Tip: This style is super secure, great for running!

C&D Road Test >> Um…if you saw my Snapchat of my first attempt at this…we know how that ended, lets just say practice makes perfect on this lil’ guy! 🙂
