Black on black is my signature look – its uncomplicated yet sophisticated, slimming…and frankly speaking, if you spill your coffee it – your day isn’t ruined…that being said, it can help to add a pop of color in there now and again to keep things interesting.

I tend to shy away from reallllly bright colors (unless its limon) – Yet when I saw this dusty rose pink suede jacket from Shein.com I was obsessed – especially when I saw the price tag (spoiler alert: it’s $30).

A ballet, or dusty pink like this is the perfect subdued pop of color that works into a minimalists wardrobe seamlessly. My wardrobe consists of black, denim, white and gray with the occasional print, sequin or leopard print – (I basically consider these pieces to be the equivalent of a neutral anyways but thats for another blog post) – so a pink not only compliments each of these colors but ads the perfect girly touch to what can be an otherwise overbearing ensemble.  I also love the cropped fit making this jacket the perfect piece to throw on over dark fall florals both long and short – such a fun seamless piece.

When rocking a lot of black, I usually keep both of my pieces pretty fitted then accentuate the look with accessories, like a statement necklace or a belt. In this case, I added a varying range of textures from skinny black denim jeans from Topshop, to a vintage beaded silk tank I scored at Goodwill and finished the look off with some of my tried and true leather pieces and the killer new statement earrings I got from Banana Republic (at 40% off…don’t walk, run).f
