Let’s just get this out of the way now…yes its a skort, and for those heading for Google I’ll save you some data – a skort is hybrid of a skirt and short and made its first debut sometime around the Full House era. This fabulous piece of clothing is not only surprisingly comfortable, it lets you drop it like its hot without showing passers by your Britney – annnnd, its been digitally remastered by Genuine People in faux leather, with an asymmetrical hemline, and embellished with zippers. It was another Luv.It score and was under $50, I have been looking for a cool piece like this forever so I was stoked!

I have really been making shift into more eco-friendly and ethically conscious choices when shopping these days from clothing to my diet and lifestyle. I’ve really been looking into the leather environmental impact and how I can make better choices with shops like Parker Clay offering eco-friendly and stylish options for my clothes and accessories. Beyond my choice to rock faux leather, this also includes my choice to wear faux fur as opposed to any real fur items. This to me is a total no-brainer especially when there are so many faux fur options that are uber-chic not to mention incredibly affordable.

BTW – I have a total secret to tell you too…I scored this faux fur leopard jacket at Goodwill on a thrifting excursion for $9.99! Statement pieces like these are a great way to dip your toes into thrift shopping because you have a very specific item you are looking for so you won’t get overwhelmed by racks and racks of clothing because it becomes a treasure hunt! 🙂

This outfit is all about statement pieces that play well together, almost like the anti-minimalist because I also incorporate statement earrings from Banana Republic and my favorite Bandit Brand T Shirt from Clothe + Arrow into the look – go big or go home, right? These statement pieces are all great because you can wear them together, but more often than not you can rock them on their own to add some edge to an otherwise minimalistic wardrobe and color palette.
