Chic Holidays // The Fourth of July
Fourth of July is probably one of my favorite holidays aside from Christmas and New Years! I don’t know if it’s the fireworks, unity of our nation or the sheer gratitude for freedom I feel but it just makes my heart sing!
Each year I start early assembling the perfect outfit to celebrate in style with some red, white and blue! I have really been into country music lately so when I saw this ¾ sleeved ruffled dress at Buffalo Exchange my eyes lit up! Because its an outfit I only wear once I year I try to keep my spending to a minimum so second stores seem like a great way to go (The dress was only $8.00!). I have always had a thing for denim and the mix of chambray and dark denim feels like it has been in my closet for ages.
Instead of looking like an American flag threw up on my I opted for a more subtle approach and completed the look with some white chucks (complete with read and white on the soles) and a simple gold bald eagle necklace and my fave set of mixed metal bangles.
I am wrapping up my first trip abroad and will land in Arizona just in time to see some sparks fly. I had an amazing time and am super excited to share my photos and experiences with you, but honestly cannot wait to get home to Bitty Bitty Brooklyn and sleep in my own bed again! I guess what they say is true, there really is no place like home!
Stay Stylish,
XOJ
